The first match this side of half term gave the U14 team to blow away a few cobwebs. It was no surprise that there were handling errors and play was a little frantic as players were eager to get involved in the game. Chu scored the opening two tries with powerful running and pace. It was pleasing to see players identifying when to take contact and when to pass and this resulted in a well finished try by Dilan on in response to a try scored by St Columba’s to take the score to 19-5 at half time. Rucking and tackling improved in the second half and some good breaks were being made by both forwards and backs. Second half tries by Chu, Shenul and Hugh, plus 3 conversions by Hugh gave a final result of 36-5 to Habs.
