11 Sept - Habs U13As wins 5-0 vs St Joseph’s Ipswich in the ISFA tournament

The match against St Joseph’s was a tough one, even with the score line being 5-0. The whole game relied on defence. In the first half, we dominated possession with an early lead from Anthony, with a stunning shot in the top right corner. After that, the opposition had a chance and hit the post and our keeper, Rian, recovered the ball. Just before a drinks break, Zac T hit a magnificent half volley into the net, giving Habs a 2-0 lead. Thereafter, we had a few chances, of which one was converted by Max T scoring in the top left. At half time, Habs had comfortable lead of 3-0. The second half was a lot more controlled. One of our great attacks in the second half saw Aiden hit the left post, directly followed by him hitting the right post too! Luckily, after that, Jashveen shot and scored after it hit a defender. St Joseph’s nearly put one in the net after a fumble from our keeper where they hit the left post. It came out far and they would’ve scored the follow up had it not been for Max L. One more shot followed which was skied. After this tension was released, we scored the final goal with Max T scoring in the bottom right around the keeper. The end of the match came with the score 5-0 to Habs. A great thing about the way we played was our wide play, with the left dominated by Max T and Kanishk and the right dominated by Charlie and Aiden. Our movement with and without the ball was spot on. Since we won, we have advanced to the next round of the ISFA Cup.

Warmest regards
